Bulk Pickup in Atlanta — What the City and DeKalb Will Do
Whether you need us at all depends on your address. Here’s what the two programs we’ve researched actually involve.
City of Atlanta (ATL311)
Request a bulk collection through ATL311. Each household gets up to twelve scheduled collections a year, after which every load carries a fee. Items go out after 7 p.m. the evening before, at least six feet from your carts and clear of the sidewalk, and improper placement can be fined.
What ATL311 Won’t Take
No electronics, no building or contractor materials, no household hazardous waste. Mattresses need approval first, and refrigerators need to be disclosed and prepped before the crew will collect them.
Unincorporated DeKalb County
DeKalb calls it special collection: the items must already be at the curb before you request, you pay a flat fee per request, and pickup follows within roughly ten business days.
Everywhere Else
Cobb, Gwinnett, Clayton, and cities like Sandy Springs, Decatur, and Marietta each set their own rules or leave bulk to your private hauler. Check with yours before you drag anything out.
If your pile fits your program and you can get it to the curb, use it. When it doesn’t — a TV in the City, drywall from a kitchen demo, a couch you can’t get down the stairs, or a DeKalb pile you don’t want on the lawn for two weeks — that’s where a carry-out crew earns its fee.

Do you carry things down from high-rise units?
Yes. Share your building’s certificate-of-insurance requirements and elevator rules when you book, and the crew works within them.
Which counties do you cover?
